platform/x86: fix kconfig dependency warning for FUJITSU_LAPTOP
[ Upstream commit afdd1ebb72051e8b6b83c4d7dc542a9be0e1352d ]
When FUJITSU_LAPTOP is enabled and NEW_LEDS is disabled, it results in the
following Kbuild warning:
WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for LEDS_CLASS
Depends on [n]: NEW_LEDS [=n]
Selected by [y]:
- FUJITSU_LAPTOP [=y] && X86 [=y] && X86_PLATFORM_DEVICES [=y] && ACPI [=y] && INPUT [=y] && BACKLIGHT_CLASS_DEVICE [=y] && (ACPI_VIDEO [=n] || ACPI_VIDEO [=n]=n)
The reason is that FUJITSU_LAPTOP selects LEDS_CLASS without depending on
or selecting NEW_LEDS while LEDS_CLASS is subordinate to NEW_LEDS.
Honor the kconfig menu hierarchy to remove kconfig dependency warnings.

platform/x86: thinkpad_acpi: re-initialize ACPI buffer size when reuse
commit 720ef73d1a239e33c3ad8fac356b9b1348e68aaf upstream.
Evaluating ACPI _BCL could fail, then ACPI buffer size will be set to 0.
When reuse this ACPI buffer, AE_BUFFER_OVERFLOW will be triggered.
Re-initialize buffer size will make ACPI evaluate successfully.

platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Switch to an allow-list for SW_TABLET_MODE reporting
commit 8169bd3e6e193497cab781acddcff8fde5d0c416 upstream.
2 recent commits:
cfae58ed681c ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Only blacklist SW_TABLET_MODE
on the 9 / "Laptop" chasis-type")
1fac39fd0316 ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Also handle tablet-mode switch on
"Detachable" and "Portable" chassis-types")
Enabled reporting of SW_TABLET_MODE on more devices since the vbtn ACPI
interface is used by the firmware on some of those devices to report this.
Testing has shown that unconditionally enabling SW_TABLET_MODE reporting
on all devices with a chassis type of 8 ("Portable") or 10 ("Notebook")
which support the VGBS method is a very bad idea.
Many of these devices are normal laptops (non 2-in-1) models with a VGBS
which always returns 0, which we translate to SW_TABLET_MODE=1. This in
turn causes userspace (libinput) to suppress events from the builtin
keyboard and touchpad, making the laptop essentially unusable.
Since the problem of wrongly reporting SW_TABLET_MODE=1 in combination
with libinput, leads to a non-usable system. Where as OTOH many people will
not even notice when SW_TABLET_MODE is not being reported, this commit
changes intel_vbtn_has_switches() to use a DMI based allow-list.
The new DMI based allow-list matches on the 31 ("Convertible") and
32 ("Detachable") chassis-types, as these clearly are 2-in-1s and
so far if they support the intel-vbtn ACPI interface they all have
properly working SW_TABLET_MODE reporting.
Besides these 2 generic matches, it also contains model specific matches
for 2-in-1 models which use a different chassis-type and which are known
to have properly working SW_TABLET_MODE reporting.
This has been tested on the following 2-in-1 devices:
Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130 vPro
HP Pavilion X2 10-p002nd
HP Stream x360 Convertible PC 11
Medion E1239T

platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Only blacklist SW_TABLET_MODE on the 9 / "Laptop" chasis-type
[ Upstream commit cfae58ed681c5fe0185db843013ecc71cd265ebf ]
The HP Stream x360 11-p000nd no longer report SW_TABLET_MODE state / events
with recent kernels. This model reports a chassis-type of 10 / "Notebook"
which is not on the recently introduced chassis-type whitelist

platform/x86: intel-hid: Add a quirk to support HP Spectre X2 (2015)
[ Upstream commit 8fe63eb757ac6e661a384cc760792080bdc738dc ] HEBC method reports capabilities of 5 button array but HP Spectre X2 (2015) does not have this control method (the same was for Wacom MobileStudio Pro). Expand previous DMI quirk by Alex Hung to also enable 5 button array for this system. [ Upstream commit 5cdc45ed3948042f0d73c6fec5ee9b59e637d0d2 ] First of all, unsigned long can overflow u32 value on 64-bit machine. Second, simple_strtoul() doesn't check for overflow in the input. Convert simple_strtoul() to kstrtou32() to eliminate above issues. Signed-off-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sashal@kernel.org> |

platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Split keymap into buttons and switches parts
[ Upstream commit f6ba524970c4b73b234bf41ecd6628f5803b1559 ]
Split the sparse keymap into 2 separate keymaps, a buttons and a switches
keymap and combine the 2 to a single map again in intel_vbtn_input_setup().
This is a preparation patch for not telling userspace that we have switches
when we do not have them (and for doing the same for the buttons).

platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Use acpi_evaluate_integer()
[ Upstream commit 18937875a231d831c309716d6d8fc358f8381881 ]
Use acpi_evaluate_integer() instead of open-coding it.
This is a preparation patch for adding a intel_vbtn_has_switches()
helper function.

platform/x86: asus-nb-wmi: Do not load on Asus T100TA and T200TA
[ Upstream commit 3bd12da7f50b8bc191fcb3bab1f55c582234df59 ] asus-nb-wmi does not add any extra functionality on these Asus Transformer books. They have detachable keyboards, so the hotkeys are send through a HID device (and handled by the hid-asus driver) and also the rfkill functionality is not used on these devices. Besides not adding any extra functionality, initializing the WMI interface on these devices actually has a negative side-effect. For some reason the \_SB.ATKD.INIT() function which asus_wmi_platform_init() calls drives GPO2 (INT33FC:02) pin 8, which is connected to the front facing webcam LED, high and there is no (WMI or other) interface to drive this low again causing the LED to be permanently on, even during suspend. This commit adds a blacklist of DMI system_ids on which not to load the asus-nb-wmi and adds these Transformer books to this list. This fixes the webcam LED being permanently on under Linux. platform/x86: GPD pocket fan: Fix error message when temp-limits are out of range
commit 1d6f8c5bac93cceb2d4ac8e6331050652004d802 upstream.
Commit 1f27dbd8265d ("platform/x86: GPD pocket fan: Allow somewhat
lower/higher temperature limits") changed the module-param sanity check
to accept temperature limits between 20 and 90 degrees celcius.
But the error message printed when the module params are outside this
range was not updated. This commit updates the error message to match
the new min and max value for the temp-limits.

UPSTREAM: usb: typec: Registering real device entries for the muxes
Registering real device entries (struct device) for the mode

The Type-C mux code was deliberately attempting to avoid
creation of separate device entries for the orientation

are not physical devices. They are functions of a single
physical multiplexer/demultiplexer switch device.
Unfortunately because of the dependency we still have on the

platform/x86: intel_mid_powerbtn: Take a copy of ddata
commit 5e0c94d3aeeecc68c573033f08d9678fecf253bd upstream.
The driver gets driver_data from memory that is marked as const (which
is probably put to read-only memory) and it then modifies it. This
likely causes some sort of fault to happen.

platform/x86: GPD pocket fan: Use default values when wrong modparams are given
commit 6ae01050e49f0080ae30575d9b45a6d4a3d7ee23 upstream.
Use our default values when wrong module-parameters are given, instead of
refusing to load. Refusing to load leaves the fan at the BIOS default
setting, which is "Off". The CPU's thermal throttling should protect the
system from damage, but not-loading is really not the best fallback in this
case.
This commit fixes this by re-setting module-parameter values to their
defaults if they are out of range, instead of failing the probe with
-EINVAL.

like HPWMI_WIRELESS2_QUERY the DSZI value is not used / checked, except for
read commands where extra input is needed to specify exactly what to read.
So for HPWMI_WIRELESS2_QUERY we can safely pass the size of the expected
output as insize to hp_wmi_perform_query(), as we are already doing for all
other HPWMI_READ commands we send. Doing so fixes these errors.

platform/x86: hp-wmi: Fix ACPI errors caused by too small buffer
commit 16245db1489cd9aa579506f64afeeeb13d825a93 upstream.
The HP WMI calls may take up to 128 bytes of data as input, and
the AML methods implementing the WMI calls, declare a couple of fields for
accessing input in different sizes, specifycally the HWMC method contains:
CreateField (Arg1, 0x80, 0x0400, D128)
Even though we do not use any of the WMI command-types which need a buffer
of this size, the APCI interpreter still tries to create it as it is
declared in generoc code at the top of the HWMC method which runs before
the code looks at which command-type is requested.
This results in many of these errors on many different HP laptop models:
[ 14.459261] ACPI Error: Field [D128] at 1152 exceeds Buffer [NULL] size 160 (bits) (20170303/dsopcode-236)
[ 14.459268] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\HWMC] (Node ffff8edcc61507f8), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20170303/psparse-543)
[ 14.459279] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB.WMID.WMAA] (Node ffff8edcc61523c0), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20170303/psparse-543)
This commit increases the size of the data element of the bios_args struct
to 128 bytes fixing these errors.

platform/x86: mlx-platform: Fix LED configuration
[ Upstream commit 440f343df1996302d9a3904647ff11b689bf27bc ]
Exchange LED configuration between msn201x and next generation systems
types.
Bug was introduced when LED driver activation was added to mlx-platform.
LED configuration for the three new system MQMB7, MSN37, MSN34 was
assigned to MSN21 and vice versa. This bug affects MSN21 only and
likely requires backport to v4.19.

ACPI / scan: Create platform device for INT33FE ACPI nodes
[ Upstream commit 589edb56b424876cbbf61547b987a1f57d7ea99d ] Bay and Cherry Trail devices with a Dollar Cove or Whiskey Cove PMIC have an ACPI node with a HID of INT33FE which is a "virtual" battery device implementing a standard ACPI battery interface which depends upon a proprietary, undocument OpRegion called BMOP. Since we do have docs for the actual fuel-gauges used on these boards we instead use native fuel-gauge drivers talking directly to the fuel-gauge ICs on boards which rely on this INT33FE device for their battery monitoring. On boards with a Dollar Cove PMIC the INT33FE device's resources (_CRS) describe a non-existing I2C client at address 0x6b with a bus-speed of 100KHz. This is a problem on some boards since there are actual devices on that same bus which need a speed of 400KHz to function properly. This commit adds the INT33FE HID to the list of devices with I2C resources which should be enumerated as a platform-device rather then letting the i2c-core instantiate an i2c-client matching the first I2C resource, so that its bus-speed will not influence the max speed of the I2C bus. This fixes e.g. the touchscreen not working on the Teclast X98 II Plus. The INT33FE device on boards with a Whiskey Cove PMIC is somewhat special. Its first I2C resource is for a secondary I2C address of the PMIC itself, which is already described in an ACPI device with an INT34D3 HID. But it has 3 more I2C resources describing 3 other chips for which we do need to instantiate I2C clients and which need device-connections added between them for things to work properly. This special case is handled by the drivers/platform/x86/intel_cht_int33fe.c code. Before this commit that code was binding to the i2c-client instantiated for the secondary I2C address of the PMIC, since we now instantiate a platform device for the INT33FE device instead, this commit also changes the intel_cht_int33fe driver from an i2c driver to a platform driver. This also brings the intel_cht_int33fe drv inline with how we instantiate multiple i2c clients from a single ACPI device in other cases, as done by the drivers/platform/x86/i2c-multi-instantiate.c code. platform/x86: Fix config space access for intel_atomisp2_pm
[ Upstream commit 6a31061833a52a79c99221b6251db08cf377470e ] We lose even config space access when we power gate the ISP via the PUNIT. That makes lspci & co. produce gibberish. To fix that let's try to implement actual runtime pm hooks and inform the pci core that the device always goes to D3cold. That will cause the pci core to resume the device before attempting config space access. This introduces another annoyance though. We get the following error every time we try to resume the device: intel_atomisp2_pm 0000:00:03.0: Refused to change power state, currently in D3 The reason being that the pci core tries to put the device back into D0 via the standard PCI PM mechanism before calling the driver resume hook. To fix this properly we'd need to infiltrate the platform pm hooks (could turn ugly real fast), or use pm domains (which don't seem to exist on x86), or some extra early resume hook for the driver (which doesn't exist either). So maybe we just choose to live with the error?
