KVM: MIPS: Change the definition of kvm type
[ Upstream commit 15e9e35cd1dec2bc138464de6bf8ef828df19235 ] MIPS defines two kvm types: #define KVM_VM_MIPS_TE 0 #define KVM_VM_MIPS_VZ 1 In Documentation/virt/kvm/api.rst it is said that "You probably want to use 0 as machine type", which implies that type 0 be the "automatic" or "default" type. And, in user-space libvirt use the null-machine (with type 0) to detect the kvm capability, which returns "KVM not supported" on a VZ platform. I try to fix it in QEMU but it is ugly: https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2020-08/msg05629.html And Thomas Huth suggests me to change the definition of kvm type: https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2020-09/msg03281.html So I define like this: #define KVM_VM_MIPS_AUTO 0 #define KVM_VM_MIPS_VZ 1 #define KVM_VM_MIPS_TE 2 Since VZ and TE cannot co-exists, using type 0 on a TE platform will still return success (so old user-space tools have no problems on new kernels); the advantage is that using type 0 on a VZ platform will not return failure. So, the only problem is "new user-space tools use type 2 on old kernels", but if we treat this as a kernel bug, we can backport this patch to old stable kernels. virt: vbox: Fix VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG and _LOG req numbers to match upstream
commit f794db6841e5480208f0c3a3ac1df445a96b079e upstream.
Until this commit the mainline kernel version (this version) of the
vboxguest module contained a bug where it defined
VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG and VBGL_IOCTL_LOG using
_IOC(_IOC_READ | _IOC_WRITE, 'V', ...) instead of
_IO(V, ...) as the out of tree VirtualBox upstream version does.
Since the VirtualBox userspace bits are always built against VirtualBox
upstream's headers, this means that so far the mainline kernel version
of the vboxguest module has been failing these 2 ioctls with -ENOTTY.
I guess that VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG is never used causing us to
not hit that one and sofar the vboxguest driver has failed to actually
log any log messages passed it through VBGL_IOCTL_LOG.
This commit changes the VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG and VBGL_IOCTL_LOG
defines to match the out of tree VirtualBox upstream vboxguest version,
while keeping compatibility with the old wrong request defines so as
to not break the kernel ABI in case someone has been using the old
request defines.

md: add feature flag MD_FEATURE_RAID0_LAYOUT
[ Upstream commit 33f2c35a54dfd75ad0e7e86918dcbe4de799a56c ] Due to a bug introduced in Linux 3.14 we cannot determine the correctly layout for a multi-zone RAID0 array - there are two possibilities. It is possible to tell the kernel which to chose using a module parameter, but this can be clumsy to use. It would be best if the choice were recorded in the metadata. So add a feature flag for this purpose. If it is set, then the 'layout' field of the superblock is used to determine which layout to use. If this flag is not set, then mddev->layout gets set to -1, which causes the module parameter to be required. x86/kvm/hyper-v: Explicitly align hcall param for kvm_hyperv_exit
[ Upstream commit f7d31e65368aeef973fab788aa22c4f1d5a6af66 ] The problem the patch is trying to address is the fact that 'struct kvm_hyperv_exit' has different layout on when compiling in 32 and 64 bit modes. In 64-bit mode the default alignment boundary is 64 bits thus forcing extra gaps after 'type' and 'msr' but in 32-bit mode the boundary is at 32 bits thus no extra gaps. This is an issue as even when the kernel is 64 bit, the userspace using the interface can be both 32 and 64 bit but the same 32 bit userspace has to work with 32 bit kernel. The issue is fixed by forcing the 64 bit layout, this leads to ABI change for 32 bit builds and while we are obviously breaking '32 bit userspace with 32 bit kernel' case, we're fixing the '32 bit userspace with 64 bit kernel' one. As the interface has no (known) users and 32 bit KVM is rather baroque nowadays, this seems like a reasonable decision. ALSA: usb-audio: Fix parse of UAC2 Extension Units
commit ca95c7bf3d29716916baccdc77c3c2284b703069 upstream.
Extension Unit (XU) is used to have a compatible layout with
Processing Unit (PU) on UAC1, and the usb-audio driver code assumed it
for parsing the descriptors. Meanwhile, on UAC2, XU became slightly
incompatible with PU; namely, XU has a one-byte bmControls bitmap
while PU has two bytes bmControls bitmap. This incompatibility
results in the read of a wrong address for the last iExtension field,
which ended up with an incorrect string for the mixer element name, as
recently reported for Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 device.
This patch corrects this misalignment by introducing a couple of new
macros and calling them depending on the descriptor type.

bpf: simplify definition of BPF_FIB_LOOKUP related flags
commit b1d6c15b9d824a58c5415673f374fac19e8eccdf upstream.
Previously, the BPF_FIB_LOOKUP_{DIRECT,OUTPUT} flags in the BPF UAPI
were defined with the help of BIT macro. This had the following issues:
- In order to use any of the flags, a user was required to depend
on <linux/bits.h>.
- No other flag in bpf.h uses the macro, so it seems that an unwritten
convention is to use (1 << (nr)) to define BPF-related flags.

tcp: tcp_fragment() should apply sane memory limits
commit f070ef2ac66716357066b683fb0baf55f8191a2e upstream. Jonathan Looney reported that a malicious peer can force a sender to fragment its retransmit queue into tiny skbs, inflating memory usage and/or overflow 32bit counters. TCP allows an application to queue up to sk_sndbuf bytes, so we need to give some allowance for non malicious splitting of retransmit queue. A new SNMP counter is added to monitor how many times TCP did not allow to split an skb if the allowance was exceeded. Note that this counter might increase in the case applications use SO_SNDBUF socket option to lower sk_sndbuf. tipc: Avoid copying bytes beyond the supplied data
TLV_SET is called with a data pointer and a len parameter that tells us
how many bytes are pointed to by data. When invoking memcpy() we need
to careful to only copy len bytes.
Previously we would copy TLV_LENGTH(len) bytes which would copy an extra
4 bytes past the end of the data pointer which newer GCC versions
complain about.

inet_diag: fix reporting cgroup classid and fallback to priority
[ Upstream commit 1ec17dbd90f8b638f41ee650558609c1af63dfa0 ]
Field idiag_ext in struct inet_diag_req_v2 used as bitmap of requested
extensions has only 8 bits. Thus extensions starting from DCTCPINFO
cannot be requested directly. Some of them included into response
unconditionally or hook into some of lower 8 bits.
Extension INET_DIAG_CLASS_ID has not way to request from the beginning.
This patch bundle it with INET_DIAG_TCLASS (ipv6 tos), fixes space
reservation, and documents behavior for other extensions.
Also this patch adds fallback to reporting socket priority. This filed
is more widely used for traffic classification because ipv4 sockets
automatically maps TOS to priority and default qdisc pfifo_fast knows
about that. But priority could be changed via setsockopt SO_PRIORITY so
INET_DIAG_TOS isn't enough for predicting class.
Also cgroup2 obsoletes net_cls classid (it always zero), but we cannot
reuse this field for reporting cgroup2 id because it is 64-bit (ino+gen).
So, after this patch INET_DIAG_CLASS_ID will report socket priority
for most common setup when net_cls isn't set and/or cgroup2 in use.

Input: input_event - provide override for sparc64
commit 2e746942ebacf1565caa72cf980745e5ce297c48 upstream.
The usec part of the timeval is defined as
__kernel_suseconds_t tv_usec; /* microseconds */
Arnd noticed that sparc64 is the only architecture that defines
__kernel_suseconds_t as int rather than long.
This breaks the current y2038 fix for kernel as we only access and define
the timeval struct for non-kernel use cases. But, this was hidden by an
another typo in the use of __KERNEL__ qualifier.
Fix the typo, and provide an override for sparc64.

commit 7ec2b3b941a666a942859684281b5f6460a0c234 upstream. If the HDMI cable is disconnected or the CEC adapter is manually unconfigured, then all pending transmits and wait-for-replies are aborted. If due to (usually) a driver bug a transmit never ends (i.e. the transmit_done was never called by the driver), then when this times out the message is marked with CEC_TX_STATUS_TIMEOUT. This should not happen and is an indication of a driver bug. Without a separate status bit for this it was impossible to detect this from userspace.
