spi: Updates for v4.8
Quite a lot of cleanup and maintainence work going on this release in
various drivers, and also a fix for a nasty locking issue in the core:
- A fix for locking issues when external drivers explicitly locked the
bus with spi_bus_lock() - we were using the same lock to both control
access to the physical bus in multi-threaded I/O operations and
exclude multiple callers. Confusion between these two caused us to
have scenarios where we were dropping locks. These are fixed by
splitting into two separate locks like should have been done
originally, making everything much clearer and correct.
- Support for DMA in spi_flash_read().
- Support for instantiating spidev on ACPI systems, including some test
devices used in Windows validation.
- Use of the core DMA mapping functionality in the McSPI driver.
- Start of support for ThunderX SPI controllers, involving a very big
set of changes to the Cavium driver.
- Support for Braswell, Exynos 5433, Kaby Lake, Merrifield, RK3036,
RK3228, RK3368 controllers.

Add a new read function to the at24 driver allowing to retrieve the factory-programmed mac address embedded in chips from the at24mac family. These chips can be instantiated similarily to the at24cs family, except that there's no way of having access to both the serial number and the mac address at the same time - the user must instantiate either an at24cs or at24mac device as both special memory areas are accessible on the same slave address. eeprom: at24: support reading the serial number for 24csxx
The chips from the at24cs family have two memory areas - a regular read-write block and a read-only area containing the serial number. The latter is visible on a different slave address (the address of the rw memory block + 0x08). In order to access both blocks the user needs to instantiate a regular at24c device for the rw block address and a corresponding at24cs device on the serial number block address. Add a function that allows to access the serial number and assign it to at24->read_func if the chip allows serial number read operations and the driver was passed the relevant flag for this device. NAND:
* Introduction of the "ECC algorithm" concept, to avoid overloading the ECC
mode field too much more
* Replaced the nand_ecclayout infrastructure with something a little more
flexible (finally!) and future proof
* Rework of the OMAP GPMC and NAND drivers; the TI folks pulled some of
this into their own tree as well
* Prepare the sunxi NAND driver to receive DMA support
* Handle bitflips in erased pages on GPMI revisions that do not support
this in hardware.

Staging and IIO driver update for 4.7-rc1
Here's the big staging and iio driver update for 4.7-rc1. I think we almost broke even with this release, only adding a few more lines than we removed, which isn't bad overall given that there's a bunch of new iio drivers added. The Lustre developers seem to have woken up from their sleep and have been doing a great job in cleaning up the code and pruning unused or old cruft, the filesystem is almost readable :) Other than that, just a lot of basic coding style cleanups in the churn. ARM: SoC cleanups and fixes for v4.7
Traditionally we've had two separate branches for cleanups and non-critical bug fixes, but both of these got smaller with each release and the differences are rather unclear now, so it seems more appropriate to have a combined branch. The most notably change is for OMAP, which gets a small rework to simplify handling of the AUXDATA mechanism used on machines that are not completely DT based yet, along with other work that is used as preparation for dropping the legacy board files. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIVAwUAVzuXUWCrR//JCVInAQKLTw/7BjSDJGRMsioOJ33Bg3LP92rJHPrVttWc vG8ULnc2QgcFTofDqgyPza2p2XuV868I7jEw4d/qDXOkeIw3ddLKjdCMzHq5r1CO G9W+ZlIw54na/Lh/CMVdMN1M3+64K4Fmp1IiBG66OhhFY8Zg3xterSEBk8V1+00K LNdiq6aJ1yROyHQtYbe+CtqTi/pJ9AmkBoRk4MnfgIMQyywESLlYDRkc3VXWEFXv 3MBszgujEIE1R+XozC2VMDPrirdwjJv71x/tlE0nveOcAIam57B/6e5yLnVCQHpu UCK8x39cj/PwWlwoBExKXNMwbTKCy03AhXjkxDmJ3bD+7FK1sEtFzcyBiwOjiZQq CBttcwqGbtrGIsLbrbpEh9hAWbWNaparbChWW7RBC1sBIG11zd0HVYjzsKppmXsZ 3LUl4KbkGw+grKa+AnsM+e9vGu+J+2vIh9sDVvs0dbXCZp5ILgExbnurxMwbg/J1 QVycR8cjS2vs+79tTfakgVCSADvpdNbMcnYLz9GM5IS9j8bOlOhv1OhKtMFOue6y zCIZyffDJqhU0M3xk78JQSx3Rt4FacDjYJdlqN27AQ125QT2kYmfGR2x/en52ARS 9QwauVp+5WcaoySdWi4TCpOMHV7FP40zhJ3G7TXZARaBccN0kCTfdF/QstLhAa0L u+TVN4A1cBw= =au7y -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-cleanups-fixes' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC cleanups and fixes from Arnd Bergmann: "Traditionally we've had two separate branches for cleanups and non-critical bug fixes, but both of these got smaller with each release and the differences are rather unclear now, so it seems more appropriate to have a combined branch. dmaengine: dw: revisit data_width property
There several changes are done here: - Convert the property to be in bytes Besides that this is a common practice for such property, the use of a value in bytes much more convenient than handling the encoded one. - Rename data_width to data-width in the device tree bindings The change leaves the support for the old format as well just in case someone will use a newer kernel with an old device tree blob. - While here, replace dwc_fast_ffs() by __ffs() Signed-off-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@intel.com> |

ARM: OMAP2+: Add more functions to pwm pdata for ir-rx51
Before we start removing omap3 legacy booting support, let's make n900 DT booting behave the same way for ir-rx51 as the legacy booting does. For now, we need to pass pdata to the ir-rx51 driver. This means that the n900 tree can move to using DT based booting without having to carry all the legacy platform data with it when it gets dropped from the mainline tree. Note that the ir-rx51 driver is currently disabled because of the dependency to !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM. This will get sorted out later with the help of drivers/pwm/pwm-omap-dmtimer.c. But first we need to add chained IRQ support to dmtimer code to avoid introducing new custom frameworks. So let's just pass the necessary dmtimer functions to ir-rx51 so we can get it working in the following patch. mailbox/omap: drop legacy platform device support

iio:imu:mpu6050: enhance mounting matrix support
Add a new rotation matrix sysfs attribute compliant with IIO core mounting matrix API. Matrix is retrieved from "in_anglvel_mount_matrix" and "in_accel_mount_matrix" sysfs attributes. It is declared into mpu6050 DTS entry as a "mount-matrix" property. Old interface is kept for backward userspace compatibility and may be retrieved from legacy platform_data mechanism only. iio: st_sensors: support open drain mode
Some types of ST Sensors can be connected to the same IRQ line as other peripherals using open drain. Add a device tree binding and a sensor data property to flip the right bit in the interrupt control register to enable open drain mode on the INT line. If the line is set to be open drain, also tag on IRQF_SHARED to the IRQ flags when requesting the interrupt, as the whole point of using open drain interrupt lines is to share them with more than one peripheral (wire-or). dmaengine: dw: rename masters to reflect actual topology
The source and destination masters are reflecting buses or their layers to where the different devices can be connected. The patch changes the master names to reflect which one is related to which independently on the transfer direction. The outcome of the change is that the memory data width is now always limited by a data width of the master which is dedicated to communicate to memory. The patch will not break anything since all current users have the same data width for all masters. Though it would be nice to revisit avr32 platforms to check what is the actual hardware topology in use there. It seems that it has one bus and two masters on it as stated by Table 8-2, that's why everything works independently on the master in use. The purpose of the sequential patch is to fix the driver for configuration of more than one bus. The change is done in the assumption that src_master and dst_master are reflecting a connection to the memory and peripheral correspondently on avr32 and otherwise on the rest.
