The ByteOrder should be encoded by the field, not by the writeToBytes() method. To fix this, a LegacyStruct is introduced which continues to expose writeToBytes(ByteOrder) during the transition. This approach helpfully creates a compile error when converting a Struct class back to inheriting from Struct for all call sites of writeToBytes(ByteOrder).
